Our Partnership with Stevenage FC Foundation
It gives me great pleasure to partner with Stevenage FC Foundation. They have worked tirelessly for years in the community and now they have agreed to join forces with Positive Expressions to deliver more amazing work in Stevenage and beyond.
Our young people will arrive and be welcomed by 2 experienced and enhanced DBS checked mentors. They will use The Lamex stadium site for the morning sessions. This will take place in the stadium’s executive boxes. This will be a very inspiring place for your young people to learn and grow whilst looking out over a professional pitch from the boxes in the stadium!
The morning sessions consist of a mix of bespoke, online courses, discussions, and external speakers. We have teamed up with Highspeed Training to offer amazing opportunities for our young people to access real-life qualifications that they can use in whichever direction they choose in life. There is a list of courses on their website which is www.highspeedtraining.co.uk it’s our role to guide and support our young people to choose what is right for them and their journey.
We will not force our young people to do something we want them to do just inform them of our experiences in life and what could benefit them in theirs. We have also sourced some amazing professionals that are in key areas that can affect or develop people’s lives, to include money management and personal accounting and mortgage advise. Lunch and breaks are at the discretion of the mentors with no set time.
After this, they will receive 2 coaching sessions run by FA qualified coaches, at the Stevenage Borough training academy on their 4G pitches. Following this the all-important match time! This is where our group will be encouraged to use what they have learned in the coaching sessions to enhance their skills and development.
Our mentors are there to support, guide, and encourage our young people to make better choices in life but also to explain why certain choices come with certain consequences. The whole day is supported and guided by our mentoring staff.
